So, here's Chapter Two...
Oh, and by the way, the title(I kinda changed it around) is Shattered Glass Memories
Chapter Two: And down the Gutter
~Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or any of its characters. I am just using them for my own petty amusement. Only the characters I create from my own imagination do I put my label on.
~Authors’ Notes: Okay, so here’s chapter two, I’m trying to get the hang of this writing thing, and it’s going along pretty well.
I kinda got the habit down that I write one chapter really long, cut it off in one place and take whatever didn’t make that chapter into the next.
I recommend doing that. It saves you from those horrible writer’s blocks. Seeing as you have already something written down, it’ll be easier writing from there then writing from nothing.
~Warnings for vulgar language, shounen ai/shoujo ai and possible yaoi/yuri(nothing too bad) in future chapters, you know, the regular . . .
~On Another Note: This takes place six years in the future from the present anime. When they were all twelve but now they are 18(and everyone’s age is to that accordance). An easy thing to remember, ne?
Oh, and just to let you know, none of these names that I use are in anyway real . . . Nor have they been checked to see if they actually make sense . . . So, yeah . . . Just bear with me
~ ~ ~
Kakashi lead them to a control center near the Hokage tower, it was stocked with all the latest technologies, Konoha had changed drastically within the last six years . . . With all gadgets, it made missions easier and saved lives.
He lead them to an empty room that had spare chairs and a big-screened computer set up on the opposite wall. Kakashi walked over to the computer, typed a few things quickly and inserted a small disc into the computer’s tower.
He motioned for them to take seats around the computer, as they got situated a window popped up on the screen, Kakashi click on it with the mouse that was located closely on the right side of the computer.
Four profiles popped up next, coming with it own picture of the person it was describing.
"These stats are pretty old, it’s when the three left their Academy and joined into a team. I’ll show you their older more recent stats afterwards."
The first one, as Kakashi clicked on it and spoke out loud, was of a Jounin, he couldn’t have looked over 20.
As he stats scrolled down, Kakashi described the man.
"This is Shinya Takahashi, the leader of Team 3. He’s 22, became a Genin at age eleven, graduated in a year, became a Chounin at age thirteen and became a Jounin when he was fourteen, joined ANBU for eight years and retired. Now he’s a team leader . . . Quite an impressive summary, one might say."
Everyone in the room was quiet and the only sound noticeable were Kakashi’s fingers moving across the keyboard.
The man’s profile picture showed a young man with long dark brown hair that was tied up securely into a high ponytail, a few strands of dark hair that didn’t make the tail, and were left to frame his long, pale face. His eyes were a sterling sliver and he wore rimless glasses, perched haphazardly on the near-end of his nose. Though, despite his description, his eyes were warm and he hardly looked strict with a careless half smile donning his face.
Kakashi clicked on the next profile, which was of a young, sliver haired youth.
"Okay, so this is one of her teammates, Hiroshi Kagamino. He comes from a clan that has a pretty unique bloodline limit. He can reach into people’s minds, much like Ino, but he can also look around your memories and copy them and store them into a mirror-like container, called a ‘Pensive’¹. So he can review them later . . . "
The boy’s stats popped up.
"He excels greatly in charka control and genjutsu, but lacks in ninjutsu and taijutsu." Kakashi told them, as his eyes scanned over the boys stats.
The boys’ picture popped up next. His hair was a dark, dirty blonde and was cut short, his bangs falling neatly around his face. His eyes were a dark navy blue. He looked like those serious, studious, ‘always-think-things-through’ types.
After clicking Hiroshi’s profile down, Kakashi clicked again to retrieve another one.
This one as of a young female.
"This is another one of her teammates, Saiyo Ryuzuka, she also comes from a highly prestigious clan. Similar like the we had here in Konoha, the Uchiha clan. She has an immensely powerful bloodline limit . . . But it seems it isn’t listed in her profile. Also . . . well . . . what do we have here . . . It also seems that the similarities with her clan and the Uchiha doesn’t stop there. She is also, like Sasuke, is the last remaining member of that clan . . . Interesting."
Naruto snuck a look at the one who was just mentioned. Upon that, he saw the Uchiha’s brows knit tightly together, as if remembering something important, his dark eyes were focused on the girl’s picture.
"She excel mostly in her ninjutsu and is a skilled swordsman . . . And look . . . She was the top Genin in her class, not surprising, really . . . "
As he was saying this, her profile picture popped up.
She had the characteristic pale skin that most clans like the Hyuuga and Uchiha shared and like the Hyuuga and Uchiha her hair was a deep black. Her hair laid flat and her bangs were extremely long, almost covering her face down to almost the tip of her nose. In the picture that was taken, you could hardly see her eyes, let alone the eye color. But just by her stance and the way she raised her chin ever so slightly, it showed her arrogance and defiance towards others . . . Much like the demeanor shared by most higher-held clans. There was no mistaking her place.
Kakashi clicked out her picture and popped up the demon container’s profile.
"Now, this is who we’re going to be looking for, Mizaka Tsukikono. She has no family or parents on record, like Naruto . . . And she has no bloodline limits or passed-down powers as far as they know."
Like all the ones before her, her picture popped up.
Mizaka had just barely shoulder length white hair, and it was shockingly a pure, powdered bleach. Her bangs were cut in a way that some of the hair partially cover the right side of her face, just under her right eye. Her eyes were a clear lavender, with interesting bits of lighter and darker colors of purple within them. In her picture she was smiling broadly, and her tan skinned cheeks were a flustered pink, assuming that she had came into the photo shoot in a rush, probably late if she was anything like Naruto.
Kakashi spoke again.
"She excels in Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, much like Naruto and her stamina is off the charts. . . Now that were done looking at them when they first met, Hokage-sama said that their recent stats contain immensely more information then these profiles."
Naruto interrupted again.
"If the recent profiles contain more info, why the hell are we wasting our time looking at these old ones?"
Sakura looked as though she agreed with him, but didn’t say so. She just looked at Kakashi expectantly.
"Well, this is just reference... You’ll get to see how much they’ve changed, much like you guys have."
All three of them exchanged looks.
"Yup... More or less why the Hokage agreed to put us on this mission was because of the odd similarities our team and their team share. Now then..."
He got up from his sitting position and turned to the three who had copied his actions.
"We need to visit a member from that team, Hiroshi. He has, like I’d said before, a unique ability. And, fortunately he has the memories of all the people who were connected with Mizaka and Saiyo, even when Saiyo was within Orochimaru’s ranks... Which, as I can already tell you noticed, can be rather interesting."
He glanced over to the brooding youth, and then spoke again.
"Sasuke, I already made an appointment with the eldest from the Yamanaka clan, hopefully she can retract your memories for you. It’s in ten minutes. Meanwhile, I’ll take Naruto and Sakura to gather some research."
Sasuke nodded stiffly, no liking the idea of being left out very much, but did as he was told.
Kakashi nodded curtly as well and walked out the room and towards’ the building’s exit, with Sakura and Naruto following behind him, Sasuke had already left.
~ ~ ~
In a matter of seconds Sasuke had transported himself to the Yamanaka residence. And in lesser time he used get to his destination, he was greeted and lead into the Main house.
Of course the Yamanaka weren’t as wealthy as, say, The Hyuuga or the Uchiha, but their standings were up there.
After walking up the three flights of shallow steps it took for the Sharingan user to step inside the building his nose was invaded by the heavy scent of incenses and perfume.
An elderly woman sat, cross legged, on a mat in the middle on the room, looking mildly interested in the dark teen.
The wrinkled lady had waves upon waves of golden hair, which was traditional for the woman of the Yamanaka clan, and was left loose and spread on her kimono-clad shoulders.
She smiled nicely at Sasuke when he came within talking-range.
"Welcome, Young Uchiha, I presume Hayate-san has told you about the appointment he made for you..."
When Sasuke nodded and took a seat facing the elder woman, she continued.
"As you probably already know, in a case like yours, where a person loses his or hers memory from not-so natural causes, it takes time and effort to get them back, you see... I will need your cooperation in turn, you will need to want to recall these memories, with all your heart, Uchiha-san..."
He nodded showing to her that he had heard and understood what she said. But, in reality, he just wanted it over with... He did not like the idea of Naruto(especially Naruto) and Sakura learning something of his past even he didn’t know about.
The elder woman nodded as well and beckoned Sasuke closer, to which he got up right slightly and walked the couple of footsteps that was distancing them. The old woman wasn’t as slow as she look, get up with surprising speed.
She gently pressed her two first fingers against Sasuke’s beating temples, careful and look for any signs of discomfort from the teen, but there was none, just the regular scowl donned Sasuke’s pale facial features. So she continued.
From that part on, all Sasuke felt was a queer sensation of being pulled head-first into oblivion.
